Turnkey EV charger installation and ongoing management for multifamily, commercial, and institutional properties across New Jersey, typically at zero cost to the property owner.

Poweral installs and manages EV charging stations for multifamily and condo properties across New Jersey. As an EV charger installer supporting a wide range of charger brands, we coordinate permitting, utility approval, and installation directly, so your team doesn’t have to manage any part of the process in house.

We also work with hotels, offices, retail centers, parking garages, hospitals, colleges, and fleets.

What it costs, and who owns the chargers

What it costs

Installation is typically free to the property owner. Poweral covers the cost using available New Jersey state and utility rebates, including the PSE&G program below.

Who owns the chargers

The property owner keeps the chargers. Poweral manages the day-to-day charging operation, monitoring, and maintenance in exchange for a share of the on-site charging revenue, on top of the added value EV charging brings for residents, guests, tenants, or staff.

How the process works

1

Site assessment

We review your property’s electrical capacity, parking layout, and expected usage.

2

Proposal

You get a clear plan for charger placement, count, and type before anything is scheduled.

3

Permitting & utility coordination

We handle applications with the local authority having jurisdiction and your utility directly.

4

Installation

Completed by our licensed electrical contractors, with Poweral as the EV Charger Certified Installer overseeing the work.

5

Ongoing management

We keep monitoring charger uptime and handling maintenance well after the install is finished.

This follows the same process described on our How It Works page, just specific to New Jersey.

New Jersey incentives currently available (as of September 2026)

Up to $30,000
PSE&G Commercial EV Charging Program on-bill credits for eligible commercial and multi-family properties

Customer-Side Make-Ready covers up to $7,500 per charger, for up to four chargers per site, for panels, conduit, and wiring. Utility-Side Make-Ready covers up to $10,000 toward utility upgrade costs needed to support the added load.

Eligible properties include multi-family buildings, government sites, and properties offering public charger access. Chargers must be ENERGY STAR certified and Wi-Fi or cellular enabled, and installation must use NJ-licensed contractors. We handle this application as part of our process.

A note on the federal tax credit: the Section 30C federal EV charger tax credit, which covered up to 30% of installation costs, expired June 30, 2026, and Congress hasn’t renewed it. If you’ve seen this credit mentioned elsewhere, that information is out of date. The PSE&G program above is the main New Jersey incentive currently active.

What New Jersey law means for condo, co-op, and multifamily properties

New Jersey law limits how much a condo or co-op association can restrict a unit owner from installing an EV charging station in their deeded or assigned parking space. Associations can still require licensed installation, apply architectural standards, and pass along reasonable costs, but a blanket ban isn’t allowed.

For board members and property managers, the smarter move is usually to plan ahead with a professionally installed system rather than handling resident requests one at a time as they come in. We help boards and managers plan for that instead of reacting to it.

Level 2

The standard choice for residential, workplace, and hotel parking, where vehicles are usually parked for several hours.

DC Fast

Suits fleet depots and high-turnover commercial locations, where a quick charge matters more than how long the car sits.
